We waved a fond goodbye to several of our herd lately and look forward to updates from their new owners:

CF Heat Wave made the long trip to his new owner, Dan Chessman in Ontario in December. Dan is a huge Barlink fan, in fact also owns Barlnk Miss Dee, a mare we owned previously so he has some big plans for Rowdys future. I miss him greeting me each morning and am glad we still have one crop of his foals to look forward to this year.
Waves of Pleasure – March 2005 sorrel overo colt
Sire: CF Heat Wave
Dam: The Pleasures Mine – superior trail mare
Armand is just too cute and he knows it. Would make an awesome youth or amateur gelding or a really good friend. He is an eyecatcher, easy to deal with. Should mature close to 15.3. I really enjoy watching him play and boss the fillies around. He was so funny when Bradley came back home, he immediately rounded up “his mares” to keep them away from the new boy on the block.
Waves of Pleasure aka Armand is headed in the opposite direction, all the way to NH to live with Kelly Frenette and join Evita The Roan at the Frenette farm.
Howard – Oct 2005 Solid Bay or Dun Colt AQHA/APHA
Sire: CF Heat Wave
Dam: Poolingui (aka Pearlized with AQHA)
Howard is so new, he doesn’t have a registered name yet. We’re hoping for Dun Up Royally. He is an oops kid for sure. Spirit was preg checked open in late September – back out with Rowdy and voila. But, he is going to be a rider deluxe and big. Ready to go the end of February with his “real” name and registrations completed.
Howard, our lovely surprise kid, born in late October and was so lucky our winter has been mild is headed south to warmer climes to live with Susan Prouty.
2004 Chestnut AQHA colt sired by Skiptheintimidation out of our Sculptured daughter. For a QH, "Bud The Stud' has more white than a lot of paints. He has lots of rabicano ticking on his barrel, and a coon tail. Suspect he would cross great on paint mares. He is bred to be a halter horse, but is turning into a tall, elegant rider type. He is N/N. He's the only boy in the bunch and the girls pick on him. He needs a new home where he can shine. Bud is a great moving colt, flat kneed, lots of impulsion.
Love To Date aka "Bud The Unstud", our only AQHA gelding from 2004 made the journey out to BC to join his new owners, Cobblehill Quarter Horses on Vancouver Island.
Dorian Gray – 2004 Gray Overo Filly
Sire; The Grand Illusion, APHA Champion, Sup halter with 105 pts
Dam: Panzas Qutee, Double superior halter with over 100 pts.
Like her dam, Glory is proving to be a slow maturing filly but like her mom will be well worth the wait. Going to at least 15.3 with lots of body and her bloodlines say she will ride once you get her superior halter on her. I had planned to show her as a yearling but health issues quickly put an end to that plan. If you want to win, look seriously at her .
Dorian Gray was chosen by Cindy Klassen to be her show mare for the coming year. Cindy and Mark had previously purchased our Sirtainty daughter from us for their good stallion, Supreme Eclipse. Unfortunately they lost him in late 2005. Cindy offered us "Squirt" back as she would be wasted at her place. So Squirt is back home to be bred to Artie in 2006.
Shes A Hot Petite – 2003 Gray Solid APHA Mare
Sire: Petite Lord AQHA – sire of earners of over 3300 pts and 100,000.00
Dam: Hot Rod Lincoln – APHA & AQHA x Hotrodders Jetset
“Victoria” is just a love, she came to us needing lots of TLC and loves being fussed over. She is a June foal and about 15.2. Said lightly started but we’ve not ridden her yet. We have applied for her QH papers with all the necessary signatures in hand. She wants to please, is great to deal with on the ground and love to have some one special own her.
Sheza Hot Petite caught Elena Yule's eye as soon as she saw her so Miss Vicky headed home with her as Elena's Christmas gift to herself. Watch for this pair on the AQHA circuit this year.
2004 solid gray filly also by HBF Iron Man and out of Claudia's Upset. She too is paid into all of the above + the Just For Pleasure Program including the Select Sire Portion.
Ted and Tina Gray of
Rippling Meadows Paints chose Jealous Woman,
another DR filly with big plans for her future.
We're looking forward to being their cheering
section.
AQHA mare N/N
Sire: Mr. Conclusion
Dam: Sin Te x Te N Te
Shannon and Trevor Davaduk who went out and
bought a farm so Miss Solis Te could live out in
pasture like she prefers. Shannon's elderly
Major Bonanza mare will keep her company. Miss
Solis Te is bred to CF Heat Wave for a double
registered foal next year. If this foal is as
good as Finesse, Shannon will be thrilled as she
also bought Finesse as a show prospect for next
year.
2004 sorrel filly sired by Texs Chip www.texschip.com and out of Sirtain Celebration x Sirtainty who was a Superior HUS stallion with several Top 5 Placings
at the World Show.
Scott Down, a young and upcoming trainer in
Saskatoon chose Invest In Chips, our nice
yearling solid filly who is paid into breeders
trust and as I discovered eligible for programs
offered by her sires owner. Scott plans to start
her under saddle next year.
2004 Sorrel Overo Filly
Thanks go to t
he Conradsons who decided that Chuckie should
have some family to keep him company until
their first foals by him arrive next year so "Bethie" is headed off to join her sire in Simi Valley
California.
aka Carson
2003 Sorrel Overo Gelding
Thanks to the
Veldhuis family for chosing Carson to join
their group of top rope horses. Travis came
with his dad yesterday to trim horses and
Carson bugged him until he agreed to take him
home with him. Although he has never been off
the place, he walked right on their trailer
with little hesitation and on his way to his
new career.
Phillip didn’t journey all that far from home, he was chosen by Erica Steffanson of Cranbrook, BC to be her new horse. A long yearling when delivered he’s already well over 15 hands and is going to be a big boy. Erica reports he has settled in well and she is busy working with him on the ground and looking forward to riding him in the spring.
aka Delilah
This pretty one, was the choice of Kim Stewart and her mom, Pam. She already owns Teddys Illusion and Walker Texas Ranger from us so getting a filly to join the boys was an easy decision. Delilah arrived in San Martin CA just in time for the torrential rains at Christmas time.
Sire: Sirtainty: Top Ten at World Show Several Times, Superior Halter and HUS
Dam: The Lady Invest Her x The Invester
Sirtain Celebration, our Sirtainty daughter finally convinced Cindy Klassen to take her home to Valleyview, AB. Cindy saw her when she first arrived here but had to make room for her at the inn. “Squirt” should be a great cross with Cindys stud, Supreme Eclipse who is a Superior WP horse among other achievements.
2002 Red Roan Filly
Sire: The Grand Illusion, APHA Champion, Superior Halter etc
Dam: Miss Sizzle Chic, multiple World and Reserve World Champion Producer + superiors in halter and performance, APHA Champion etc etc
Evita , our two yr old red roan filly who caught a lot of people’s eyes is firmly ensconced in the heart of Karen Frenette in Alton, NH. Karen is going to double register her AQHA and then plan out her performance career. Just before she left I found what I think is enough pink skin to qualify her finally for full paint papers, a nice bonus for her new family.
2003 Sorrel Overo filly
Sire: The Grand Illusion
Dam: Miss Solis Te by Mr Conclusion
The Lady Is A Queen aka Gracie Jane is another new California resident arriving just in time for the heavy rains. Susan Prouty almost bought her full brother, Hughie Lewis so it seemed logical that she chose Gracie Jane. She too will be reg AQHA and Susan is busy planning her future
2002 Minimal Sorrel Overo Filly
Sire: Titans Cool Cat, Superior Halter, World Champion Sire + Congress, Honor Roll etc etc
Dam: Casino Fire (TB)
Mythicool came from Spokane as a yearling to become a Canadian but ended up returning to Meaghan Fitsgeralds place in Washington as a two yr old filly. She is a lovely mover and beginning to mature into a nice mare.
2002 Dun Overo Gelding
Sire: Hotwheels Inmotion, 500+ Halter Pts, Sire of Honor Roll Mare in 2003, My Dream Wheels
Dam: Badger Two Lena, Double bred Two Eyed Jack
Pretty enough to halter at regional and state levels. He loves attention, should mature close to 16 hands. Congratulations to Dan Tedor of Spokane Washington who decided that "Lionel" would be his first APHA amateur horse. Dan is tall, so Lionel's height and bulk are going to suit him just fine. We're looking forward to hearing about their successes later on this year.
2002 Bay QH Filly
Sire: Artful Move
Dam: Picktown Girl out of Tenchita
This gorgeous filly never made it on the website. I bought her then realized that I can't breed her to Artie and can't afford to breed her to the quality of stallion she deserves. Her grand dam, Tenchita produced Sweet Shop Artie and Sweet Moving Artie, both World and Congress Champions. So we sent off to be started in Washington and of course then some one in Alberta was interested in her. Congratulations to Ted and Tina Gray of Rippling Meadows Paint Horses who chose her to add to their broodmare band for Zips Power Play. That should be a great combination.
aka Simon Says
As one friend said, he was born looking "ripped". A late June foal, Simon had no problem keeping up with his older siblings from the get go. Katie Woods spotted him when he was a month old and said "He's mine". So, Simon Says is now living in Estcada, Oregon with Katie's family, learning to like the goats, sheep and various assorted livestock that live at their farm. Katie plans to show him on the west coast circuits next year so if you see her and Simon, say hi to them, Her daughter, Sarah and her reining horse, Bad Ant Print will be there too.
1997 Sorrel Overo Mare - 15.3 hands
Sire; Barlnk Cadilac Kid, Multiple World Champion Sire, + numerous Top Tens and Superiors
Dam; Impressive Miss Dee x Tardee Impressive. She is the dam of multiple World & Reserve World Champions
What more can we say about Missy? Not shown by choice by her previous owners, she was bred and her yearling gelding has been a money earner in weanling and yearling futurities. Her full brother won two World Championships and one Reserve Youth World Championships this year after placing in the Top Ten last year. Bar S Miss Dee was sold to Sheila and Ray Mackie of Kirkfield, Ontario. They have bred her to Awesome Andy, World Champion Stallion for a 2004 foal.
Born: April 14/03 Sorrel Overo Filly
Sire: Bodyguard
Dam; Bar S Miss Dee
Izzabella is proof that the amount of white a horse has on it's body bears no relation to what it produces. With her one bright blue eye, complete with eyeliner, set in a tiny little bald face, complimented by stockings all the way up into her flanks and ticking through out her body she is one eye catching girl. Izzabella was sold along with her mom to Ray and Sheila Mackie in Ontario.
This one is really cute bay overo gelding sired by Born To Be Grand and out of a TB/Clyde cross mare. Although he is just a yearling, he's had a real job since he was 4 months old. A neighbor who imported an Andalusian colt from California needed a friend to keep him company and hired Kelly. He's going to be tall with great bone and super disposition. We sold Kelly to Michelle Brochu of Bow, New Hampshire. Michelle events so Kelly's size and good bone appealed to her.
Aurora is fairly long legged, close coupled, nice neck, long hip already, all the things you want in a filly and the funkiest face marking that qualifies her for full papers. Once you see her, you'll always remember her face and of course her blue eyes. Another legitimate halter prospect, her sire is a World Champion Sire and her mom a double superior halter horse. Aurora has been sold to Lori Davies.
1986 Sorrel Overo Mare
Sire: Triples Titan, Leading Sire
Dam Centennial Edition
Although we didn't own Lady a very long time, she's special to me just because she is such a sweetie. But with our program changing to HUS horses, she wasn't quite what we needed for Artie. Sheila and Ray Mackie in Ontario chose her to be one of their mares for their new stallion, Inconclusive Dreams by The Dreammaker. That should be an awesome cross and we look fwd to seeing her babies in the future and probably drooling over them.
aka Hannah and/or Marfu Stu Heart
Sorrel overo filly Born: April 24/03
Sire: The Grand Illusion
Dam: What A Classy Lady by Triples Titan
They say the good ones have to have "attitude" to catch the judges eye and Hannah has tons of it. Meagan Fitzgerald in Spokane, Washington has big plans for her show career. She says Hannah's blue eye reflects her Marfu Stu Heart side some days. Meaghan has won the world show in HUS classes so looking forward to updates on them in the years to come.
aka Maybelline
Bought this cute filly on impulse as a weanling, scared her half to death bringing her home when I blew a tire but she settled in with the other girls. She too has that "look at me" essential to show horses. Jamie Fitzgerald of Washington took one look at her pictures and was won over instantly.
This boy is just getting better and better as he gets older. Brittany Thomas has chosen him to be her next project and plans to show him in the various Triple Crown futurities he is eligible for until he is four.
2001 Red Roan Overo Filly
Sire: The Grand Illusion
Dam: Miss Sizzle Chick
Randi is a late June foal so has just been hanging out waiting for the right person to pick her. Now two yrs old and ready for a job, Brittany Thomas of Spokane picked her for her new Novice Amateur Show horse for the coming years. She and her half brother, Simon may well end up at the same shows together. That would be so cool.
1999 Sorrel Tobiano Filly
Sire: Sudden Impact
Dam: Ms Classy Dee x Mr Classy Cowboy
Dee has a new home with a good friend, Cindy Kremer of St. Albert, AB. Cindy also owns Pretty Ruffles who was bred here, Cindy's breeding program put Ruffles on the Leading Dam List for 2003 so we're looking forward to Dee's foals from Splasherfific, Cindy's new stud.
Born; May 1/03
Sire:The Grand Illusion
Dam: Desirable x Sudden Impact
Roger didn't go far to find his new home. Len Napik of Hastings Lake Ranch decided he had to have him because they didn't have any paint foals this year. Roger is a WP prospect deluxe, looks like a rider just walking across the field.
Sire: Sheiks Whim
Dam; Daughter of Kilobar on the top and granddaughter of Good on the bottom side.
Another good friend chose Carol to add to her broodmare band. Rae Brook has a super barrel racing stallion but likes to dabble in halter at bit so is hoping for a palomino overo filly from Carol and Illusion to keep Traffic company in the trailer heading to the shows. Asked for first dibs on the foal and was told firmly it was not going to be for sale.
Henry Gauthier from Northern Saskatchewan thinks she will be a great cross on his stallion, Olympic Cool and I have to agree with him. He's close enough to us that we'll get to see her foal up close and personal down the road.
aka "Briggs"
Born: April 23/03 Bay BS colt
Sire: The Grand Illusion
Dam: Smooth Angie x Jet Smooth
This handsome bay bs colt has caught everyone's eye since he was born. Finesse Paint Horses in Washington plan to show him on the open hunter/jumper circuit when he grows up. For now, they are enjoying watching him sit in his big tire feeder to keep his feet dry. Briggs never did do mud and is creative at avoiding it.
2002 Sorrel Overo Filly - Pd into Breeders Trust
Sire: Top Hat Edge: Superior Halter & HUS + APHA Champion & Sire of Superior Halter
Dam: What A Classy Lady x Triples Titan
Fancy and feminine with lots of eye appeal, 50/50 color, long hip and pretty head. “Amanda” will halter definitely – her mom has 46 halter pts and dad has 78 halter pts + 102 performance. She could be one of those rare “all round prospects”. Her sire wins big WP and HUS classes, then comes back and smokes them all in large barrel and pole speed events. Frilled Edges and Desirable Body are now residing in Kamloops, BC with the Coopers extended family. How nice that they have each other for company to take away the stress of a new home.
April 24/02
Sire; Bodyguard by Dirty Sonny, Leading Sire and out of Teddys Sparkle
Dam: Desirable by Sudden Impact, sire of 18 World and Reserve World Champions
Because her mom is homozygous, we knew we would get color but having a filly was a nice surprise after all the colts. Frilled Edges and Desirable Body are now residing in Kamloops, BC with the Coopers extended family.
"Lily" is such a talented filly, looks like a rider just walking across the pasture. And such a kind, willing filly to do anything with. Lorna Lourenco, who bought Chuckie, also fell in love with Lily so took her home too.
2001 Sorrel Gelding
Sire: Western Impress, World Champion Sire, Sup Halter etc. (deceased)
Dam: Panzas Qutee, my beloved "Beverly.
"Trevor" is starting to bloom finally and growing like a weed. We found a pink spot high up inside his flank when we gelded him. My vet thought I was nuts when I got all excited about it. Hopefully it will grow with him to be large enough for full registry. Dress Western, aka Trevor is now living in Hardisty and learning about cows with new owner, Andy Masyk. Andy is raving about his intelligence, willingness and athletic ability. Been riding him for about 20 minutes a day for 30 days and just loves him.
2002 Sorrel Colt
Sire; The Grand Illusion
Dam: Miss Solis Te by Mr. Conclusion out of a daughter of Te N Te
Here is a horse to compete on the tough open circuits - a horse that will catch the judges eye and then win under saddle and in halter classes. Hughie Lewis moved to northern Alberta to befriend Dallas Toniguerette who lost his horse in a horrible car accident earlier this year.
2002 Chestnut Colt
Sire: The Grand Illusion
Dam; Smooth Angie x Jet Smooth out of daughter of Alamitos Bars
Boy, if you like life in the fast lane, take a serious look at Franklin's pedigree. His mom is by Jet Smooth, Leading QH Sire of just about every event but a ton of speed events and racing. Ballyachin is a speed producer herself and Alamitos Bars was also a speed horse and a sire of same. And he's elegant looking as a bonus. Smoothly Grand is now living in B.C, with a large family including the Grandfather who commented that with Franklin joining the herd, he now has a Frankie and Johnny pair.
2002 Sorrel Splashed Overo Filly
Sire: The Grand Illusion
Dam: Clasi Style x Impressionist (N/N) Reserve World Champion Sire & out of daughter of Barlink Macho Man
Ribbons is deaf like her mom, but it sure doesn't slow her down in any way. Going to be a big bodied, tall, fancy halter filly who won't jump at loud noises or the announcer. Ribbons is off to join the military with her new owner Tina Thomas of Mountain Home, Idaho. Tina is planning on some Pat Parelli seminars to help her work with Ribbons and her deafness.
1994 Sorrel Overo Mare - 15.2 hands
Sire; Impressionist (N/N) sire of Reserve World Champions, APHA Champion, many superiors and futurity winners
Dam; Barlink Clasi Lasi x Barlink Machoman.
Clasi has been shown on the open circuit in northern Idaho and Washington doing very well. We bought her because we had another Impressionist daughter that we loved. Now a broodmare, she produced 3 colored foals for us. The first and only one shown so far, Walker, Texas Ranger placed well in futurities becoming a money earner as a weanling. Congratulations to Gail Nugent and her husband Dr. Earl Nugent, DVM on their purchase of Clasi Style in foal to Bodyguard. Clasi's new home will be in Welland Ontario where Gail plans to enjoy doing trail classes with her, while Earl spoils her foal.
2000 Chestnut Overo Filly - Paid into Breeders Trust
Sired by The Grand Illusion, APHA Champion, Sup Halter and out of Teddys Sparkle, Sup WP and third at World Show in WP.
16 hands and still growing, she has filled out and matured into a wonderful mare. Ready to be started now, both mentally and physically. Sold to Gina Kline in Illinois.
2002 Chestnut colt
“Climber” was so named because he decided he was leaving home immediately on gaining his feet by climbing the walls literally. He is one cute kid, lots of body, super little head and personality. Ima Westerner has a new home in Florida with Laura Nix in Milton. Lucky Climber - he left Alberta just as the weather turned cold and snowy.
2002 sorrel overo Filly
She arrived looking a week old with long stockings and an unique face marking.
Gray TB mare built like a Quarter Horse who we owned and sold to Diane Magdalin when she decided she wanted to run a TB again. Well her plans changed so we bought Spark back again in foal to a nice son of Encore.
This mare won many races on the track, her TB foals are running and winning on the coast. Plus she has a couple of hunters doing well on that circuit. She's 17 years old but acts about 3 most of time. Bumpas Spark, in foal to Illusion, sold to Diane and Terry Sakal of Swan River, Manitoba to raise them some winning TB foals.
This girl is a big, 8 year old, 16 hand TB mare we also obtained from Diane. She's a cropout mare with belly white and high stockings making her very eye appealing. "Babe" has a lovely neck and a long hip.
Her sire, Taylor is well known in the Pacific Northwest as a sire of race winners and in demand for the hunter/jumper market. Durate, in foal to Deputy Bodman, has been sold to Jean McEwan of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
This one is looking more like her Superior Halter dam every day. Getting leggy, neck is really getting long and very pretty headed. Between her sire and dam they earned over 200 halter points so we think she should halter pretty tough for someone. Although she has lots of white, she is one clean filly whether in her stall or outside in a big pen.
Low maintenance in the yellow /green department. She's been sold to Kalleco Ranch, New Sarepta, AB a mere 20 minutes from us so we'll get to see her from time to time. They are hoping to get her to the show ring.
This boy is now known as Teddys Grand Illusion and Walker, Texas Ranger reside in sunny California with new owner, Kim Stewart.
Walker is at Rusty Paris' barn being readied for his 2002 show career with big long range plans for him and Kim in the show ring. Hogan gets to hang out at home with Kim for a little while yet, before being readied for lunge line and halter.
Her new owners are Leroy and Debbie Pasmeny of Sherwood Park, Alberta. She is going to be Debbie's show mare, the kids leadline horse, and be bred to their stallion, Stormy Canoe.
They're actually almost neighbors - don't usually sell horses that close to home!
Wilson's full sister, also a very pretty BS filly was bought by Primo Farms of Vancouver Island.
They are heavy horse enthusiasts but couldn't resist buying Nancy once they saw her.
Queen Street,
Bodacious Body, Hulk Hogan
2001 fancy liver chestnut overo colt is living in Langley BC with his new family, the Harmsworths.
They are new to the horse world so Herman and his owners will be learning new skills together.
better known as The Star, is growing up and getting even fancier, if that is possible. Her sire, Sierra Supreme is a Multiple World Champion sire. Mom, Smooth Angie is no slouch in the produce department either.
We sold Smooth Recovery to Merrie Barry of West Guildford, Ontario. She plans to enjoy sharing The Star with her daughter and show her on the Ontario Paint Club Circuit. Smooth Recovery was the High Point Two Yr Old Halter Mare in Ontario for 2003.
2001 sorrel overo filly
Another one of our good fillies, she sold when she was two weeks old to Jennifer Kunz, who is a cowhorse lover but is now almost convinced she is going to show Cyd at halter next year at the Paint Shows. Jennifer said Cyd complained to her that her picture wasn’t on our website. My response was that we were waiting for new owner to supply updated pictures. Actually think Cyd’s mad she’s spending the winter in Alberta when her brothers are enjoying California sunshine and warmth.
BS mare by Apparent Heir, Sup Halter and out of daughter of Skipa Lindy Streak, was sold to Deb Johnson of Innisfail.
She had a BS filly by Top Hat Edge in April 2002.
our 1999 sorrel overo filly, made the journey to Northern Ontario where the Hanson's run a fishing lodge. She is destined to be
Marlene's horse for pleasure riding and eventually be a broodmare. This is the filly who broke her neck as a weanling. Marlene said she took to groundwork like a duck to water and is going well under saddle.
1999 Black Overo Mare
Named "Smidge" by her new owner, Colleen Hazeldine, she's going just super under saddle, too well according to Colleen as her young daughter, Madison has now claimed her as her show pony for next year. Given how well Madison did on the 2001 show circuit, that's fine with me. And because they're friends and live near us, I'll get to see her show as a bonus.
As one trainer said "this colt looks like a rider, wants to hold his head level and just move out nice and smooth".
Bred to ride, he’s been placing consistently well in his weanling futurities this fall. "Walker" is laid back like his dad and willing to please.
1987 Sorrel Overo Mare
Sire: Si Senior
Dam: Dyna Rogan
We showed Dynos Si as a yearling and briefly as a two year old earning 13 halter points and a couple of Grands. She has produced a Superior Halter Horse, APHA Champion, Top Ten at World Show in 2 year old studs and futurity winners. To date she has had only one solid foal bred to a variety of stallions.
Her mom is a producer of Superior Halter, Cutting Futurity Winner, Versatility Champion etc. etc. Her sire is a Reserve World Champion sire plus numerous Superiors etc etc. She won the tough Idaho Weanling Futurity and placed in the Oregon Triple Crown Yearling Futurity.
2001 Loud Sorrel Overo Filly
Her dam is a daughter of Sheiks Whim, Honor Roll Halter Stallion in the Nation on the top side and her dam is by Sierra Supreme, multiple World Champion sire. Her sire is Sonny Sides Image, a World Champion Sire, plus sire of many Superiors. Whimsical Image, now owned by Erin Gray of Wisconsin, has undergone a transformation since her purchase. Erin believed me when I said that underneath the long, matted hair and pot belly was a good filly. Erin is busy planning her show career for next year.
Purchased by Mark Carter, well known jumper trainer in Seattle, Washington. Mark is enjoying great success with Wilson on the Hunter circuit showing him "In Hand".
