Woke up this morning to a very hard frost - the poor fountain was almost covered in ice but still functioning. But the sun is shining and NO DAMN WIND.  The foals are literally bouncing off the walls in the barn so they can go out. I've heard about the scandanavian sport of skijoring where they ski behind a horse in the snow. Well I have now experienced it in a slightly different manner. Picture a vertically challenged, halter quality old broad leading a 16.2 TB mare, Charlie and her foal McCarthy down our driveway which slopes downhill and is very wet at warp ten speed --- skijoring Alberta style. Bruce was leading Sacred and Joanna and managed much better. But they are outside in the sun ripping around like idiots.

Much easier to get Bellarosa and Penelope into their pen.

Well Bruce always says to be careful what I wish for because I may just get it. Soooo, we've all been praying for rain, moisture in any form. Got 3/4 inch about a week ago, leaves popped out, lawns turned green - nice but not enough. Yesterday we got more rain and today it turned to snow - add another inch to the total and it's still coming down. Travel is not recommended on #2 Hwy. severe winter storm warnings covered most of central and southern Alberta yesterday - thinking we got enough for a little bit - need some sun to put it to use for a few days.

My body has just reminded me how much it hates cleaning mare and foal stalls especially when they are big mares. Yuck

Now wishing for this moisture to quit and the sun to come back --- never satisfied am I?

Bruce 's finally home from his extended trip to Florida to pick up the two horses coming in from Argentina - he got to meet Penelope and McCarthy who were born while he was gone. And we are waiting impatiently for the forecasted rain to arrive. Raining a few miles from us this morning but not here. Come on Rain!!!

Bellarosa and Penelope have been sold this morning to a great family in Okotoks, we'll breed Belle back to Barry before sending them off to their new home.

Here we go - Amberlee may have created a monster giving me the option to post my thoughts on anything anytime I feel like it. I'll start by thanking her for all the work needed to put this new website together. I'm looking forward to posting our remaining 2010 foals when they arrive, not weeks later. So stop by for updates when you are out cruising around.

DeceivedI'm excited to say that we've moved to a new site with the addition of fun features such as this cool new blog! Stay tuned as I get to know it and make time to add new info! What's so exciting is that just like using a word processor, I can add pictures to my blogs with ease! I can also size them and format my text (just like using Hotmail really) to make all this look really nice. I also love that it keeps my most recent entries right at the top and it does all the archiving for me! Later you can search through my blog postings by the month (to find those really important ones that you simply must read again!)

From adding photo galleries to video and more, anything is now possible - and so much easier than old style website building! We use TAGS with this blog so as words come up like information or horses or even paints.. the tags will grow on the right. The more any of the words are mentioned the bigger that tag gets. Information Information Information.. see how big that tag is now?
