Far More Conclusiv aka Vivian finally gave up walking mid afternoon on March 19th (the day of the biggest full moon in 20yrs) and laid down by the round bale. We quickly got her up and in the barn where after two more rounds, she laid down and quicker than I can type about it - shot out Christopher in less than 15 minutes from start to finish. Where do I start about him -- I knew he was a colt as soon as I saw his head and was elated with his funky face markings that had enough white to qualify him for regular registry. But he also has lots on his body as well. He was up checking everything out right away so we left them to bond and figure things out. In an hour he had nursed, mom had cleaned and  life was good. His sire is Sudden Instinct who takes my breath away, check him out at www.reisingerfarms.com . I believe him to be a legitimate show prospect and we'll pay him into the Breeders Trust Program when we register him. Got lots of neat name suggestions due to his neck markings. For Sale!!

Gotta love spring foals, no extended stall cleaning for mom because of bad weather. Brought Beverly in the barn Wed night when she waxed and because it was nice weather, she went back out with her friends for the day on Thursday. My sister and BIL arrived Wednesday and so we went touring but thankfully Bruce and Dave made it home in time to see Beverly start to foal outside. He called me to let me know, first said colt, then filly, then hmmm, no filly.  Bruce let her foal then with Dave getting up close and personal with leading Beverly - he is not horsey and Bruce encouraging the foal, they got them up the hill to the barn and tucked away in a stall. Usually me doing that - this time I just got to enjoy the end result, Felicity. She's one fancy filly and has already caught Jerome David eye. He owns her full brother, Fletcher, so she'll be traveling to France in the fall my way.

Maci literally gets as big as a house- likes to surprise  you as she never really shows any signs of impending birth. So when she started going off by herself, I put her in the barn at night to be safe on the 14th thinking she would foal on the night of the full moon. Well I got the date right, time wrong. Looked down in the small pasture to see a bag poking out and a tiny foot, so ran down and got her out of there, thinking she could foal on the front lawn and not have to drag mare and foal thru the mares. But nope, she didn't want to leave her friends and it's hard to argue with a 16 hand, 1500 lb mare so we compromised and I put her in the pen adjacent to the small pasture so her friends were near. She was quite pissed at me and stomped around for a bit before giving up and foaling. Baby got stuck at the shoulders so helped a bit and out slid a fancy, fancy bay tobiano filly. Getting to like this outside no stall mess foaling as long as we are there. We let Karina get her legs, have a drink or two, then made the journey up to the barn. This filly rivals an elephant in poop production and you like to see that. She named herself right away too. She has look at me attitude but very user friendly like Felicity and would make some one a fancy show prospect or just a good friend. FOR SALE
